Avenue, which is just down Columbus Ave. from us, is probably our most frequented restaurant. The food is excellent, serving fairly typical french bistro fare. The hangar steak and the skate are my typical orders for dinner. I also love the roasted garlic clove they serve with the bread.

Avenue is also a great place for lunch and brunch, especially when the weather is nice and you can sit outside. Everything on their brunch menu is outstanding. They have various egg dishes, french toast, etc., as well as an aweseome burger. I've only had lunch there once (only served weekdays), but the menu was very interesting. I had a great chicken pot pie and calamari appetizer.

The ambiance of a restaurant is very important to me and, unfortunately, Avenue has take a slight step backwards in this area. It's still a very nice looking place to dine, but I actually preferred the look before their recent redecoration. It used to have a darker more intimate feel, and now it's been redone in brighter colors. Oh well.

Finally, for those of you with kids, Avenue is very baby and stroller friendly.

Update: Avenue has been replaced by an Italian restaurant called Nonna. Haven't eaten there myself, but I've had a few people tell me that its very good.

They even have a changing table with diaper wipes in the restroom which is nice for those with babies.
