Turns out he joined the band after they filmed Old School. John and Dave were roommates freshman year, which is actually how I met Dave.

I'm looking forward to it as well, but I knew him before you since he was my roomie. Plus, I see that you're going to be blaming him for knowing me - it was only a matter of time. Koz and I spent a lot of good times cranking Van Halen and drinking Popov vodka (in the safety-conscious plastic jug) mixed with whatever we could afford in change out of the vending machine. I'm hoping for a slightly better drink at the concert.
